Organic Trade Association

Within the trade industry businesses like the OTA {Organic Trade Association} who are dedicated to protect and promote ethical consumerism throughout the world. Farmers, the economy, all cultures and our environment benefit from the OTA. This membership based business was established in 1985 in the US and Canada.

Most of their research and focus is on advocating and protecting organic standards. It deals with products from organic food, fibers and personal care. The supply chain is important for organic food and the OTA actively monitors the work of government agencies and takes positions on legislation that affects the organic environment.

This is what we need to do, is support local organic businesses. This can help the community and the world as a whole. If people can cut back on items that are proven not necessary, then we can focus more on businesses that can use the money. We as Americans tend to forget about workers in the USA that really help this country grow into what it is now.

The Organic Trade Association has a lot to do! So many businesses claim to be organic but do not adhere to any specific rules. Organic and going green are definitely terms used often in today's society and culture. I hope the green movement is a lifestyle change that is here to stay!
