Trade Evolution

Trade is an onerous exchange of goods and services. It has evolved significantly from the prehistoric times to nowadays. Many years ago it was represented by the barter of goods and services while today many purchases are made through the Internet. What are the stages that trade goes through through-out history? How does technology influence the way goods and services are sold? How do technological advancements in trade affect culture and society? What is the future of trade?

Sisters In Arms, I agree with your post. There are many ways of trade. This is how items and goods get sent all over the world for people to live. Different ways for example are rafts, like you said in your other post, trains, planes, animals, and more. Transportation of goods today can also be the internet for how easy and fast it is. To me, it is amazing how far we come as a society all because of technology evolving to this very day.

Sisters in Arms, I think that bartering was a great way of trading in the past. Now, technology is so far advanced that you can just order anything over the internet. I think that these technological advances makes buying things a lot easier. I do not think it is good for stores.

Many trades that occur now are all done technologically. It is very rare nowadays to see trade business being done face to face much in the way it had to be done before. However, there are always trading deals and agreements that still continue to occur face to face. And the advancement of technology and communication has served for goods to be easily traded and accessible much better and faster than ever before.

With the advancement of technology, trade is much easier today. Actually it probably isn’t even trade today since ANYTHING can be bought online and delivered to your doorstep whereas in ancient times people had to travel 1000’s of miles just to try to trade their ideas. Today they are posted on the internet and it shows how technology can impact society and make lives easier by changing the culture.

Internet shopping is enormously popular! Many sites feature items that are hard to find and would take the time consuming task of driving to several "brick and mortar" stores in order to find. Ebay is a vey popular site. There, virtually everyone can be their own store owner.

Craigslist's For Sale section offers a variety of goods. This site is interesting for many of it's users offer barters. For example, someone may be selling a small dinette set for $2oo, but offer it for free in exchange for an original NES with working controllers.

I think trade evolution is a very good topic. I think that technology has changed the way people trade these days. With the Internet and credit cards, everyone usually buys online today. Online shopping is the way to go these days. It saves you gas money and time because you don't have to wait in line.
